Q&A WITH MAKEUP ARTIST SCARLETT FEATHERS
September 22, 2019
Scarlett Feathers is the Manchester-based makeup artist behind the glowing beauty looks from our most recent shoot. She's super talented and we just loved working with her! Get to know Scarlett in our exclusive interview below.
Name: Scarlett Feathers
Current Location: Manchester/Lancashire
Describe yourself in 3 words.
Sarcastic, clumsy and smiley!
What do you love about Lola & Lamar?
I love the concept of the brand. How the couple who have designed the pieces have travelled & been inspired by places they’ve been to create the swimwear. Passion makes a brand stand out!
What made you decide to become a makeup artist and how did you get into the industry?
I’ve always been artistic, and as I was growing up I felt like the new form of art was through makeup! The makeup world hit off massively just as I started and it inspired me to start in the industry- I’ve never looked back!
What's the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is definitely meeting new people - and making people feel good about themselves. I don’t think anything beats that.
Who's the most interesting person you've worked with?
Hard to say without upsetting a few... haha! Genuinely Emily (the model for Lola & Lamar). Ever since we met I knew we’d be friends! She pushes my name in this industry and I’m truly grateful to have met her! She’s not even just a gorgeous face (which is annoying) she’s also so unbelievably kind! A gem.
No. 1 beauty tip?
Always moisturise!!! This is the key for me to get the base exactly how I want - my favourite is the Kiehls ultra facial moisturiser!
Favourite new beauty label or product?
My new favourite product is the Revolution foundation stick to contour! I use shade F13 and it’s so easy to blend! It’s also £5 so it’s a bargain!
Any hidden talents?
I can do a spot on Phil Mitchel impression! Eastenders watch out.
Favourite song of the moment?
Ride it - Regard (trying to hold on to the summer tracks)
Something most people don't know about you?
I’m a soft arse! Every time I watch TV I’ll cry - I cried at the first 5 minutes of ET when the aliens left him on Earth. I’m pathetic.
Would have to be Gigi Hadid! She’s iconic.
Any advice for someone wanting to get into the industry?
Believe. Everything starts with wanting something and believing you’ll get there. I’m no where near where I aim to be just yet, but I’m so happy with where I am on the journey! I love my job!
Keep up with Scarlett!
